Some councils will assess your needs and tell you how much money you will have to spend on your care and support. We have expert staff who can support you to work out what to spend your money on and to choose who should provide it for you. This can be called brokerage. The money is sometimes referred to as a Resource Allocation (RAS) or and Individual Budget.

Personal Story
Trevor moved from a care home a long way from his family, to a flat in a supported living scheme with a high level of staff support. He had intensive support when he first moved in so that staff could learn about his likes and dislikes and to understand his communication. After an initial settling in period, there has been a huge reduction in his ‘challenging’ behaviours, as he is now in control of his own space and the staff working with him can meet his individual needs so he does not get frustrated. He seems so much happier and so relaxed.
